How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone & iPad
Apple iOS manages file downloads through Safari's sandboxed download manager rather than saving directly into the Photos camera roll. This step-by-step guide explains exactly how to save TikTok videos to your iPhone's Photos app with zero additional apps required.
Copy the Video Link in the TikTok iOS App
Open the TikTok app on your iPhone or iPad. Navigate to the video you wish to save. Tap the curved Share icon on the lower-right menu (the white arrow). In the sharing tray, swipe through the icons and tap Copy link.
A temporary confirmation popup "Link copied" will appear at the top of your screen.
Open Safari and Paste into Viditok
Launch Safari (or your preferred iOS browser). Visit viditok.com.
Tap the search box. You can either tap the purple Paste button or tap into the field and select Paste from the iOS menu. Then tap Get Download Options.
Confirm the Native Safari Download Prompt
Once Viditok inspects the available streams, choose your desired quality (e.g., Download Full HD 1080p).
Safari will display a system security dialog:
"Do you want to download [video_title].mp4?"
Tap Download. In Safari's address bar, a small blue circle with a downward arrow will show the active download progress.
Save from Files App into Apple Photos (Camera Roll)
By default, Safari saves downloaded files to your iCloud Drive or iPhone "Downloads" folder in the Files app. To move it into your standard Photos camera roll:
- Tap the Download icon (blue circle with arrow) in Safari's address bar.
- Tap the newly downloaded video file from the list. The video will open in full-screen preview.
- Tap the Share icon (square with an upward arrow) in the bottom-left corner.
- Scroll down in the action sheet and tap "Save Video".
The video is now stored inside your Apple Photos library alongside your camera pictures, ready for offline playback, editing, or sharing.
Helpful iOS Tip: Managing Safari Download Locations
You can customize where Safari stores downloads. Go to your iPhone's Settings → Safari → Downloads. You can choose between storing downloads on iCloud Drive (synced across your Mac and iPad) or On My iPhone (stored locally for maximum speed and privacy).
